Slate Run Living Historical Farm

Could this be Chanticleer, from the French tale Chanticleer and the Fox?

Could anything be sweeter?

Did you know that when eggs are laid they have a protective coating on them to keep them fresh? If you don't wash the eggs, this covering will keep them from going bad for about 6 weeks without refrigeration.

Thirsty anyone?

Group of homeschool friends.

How they LOVED washing their hands with the water pump and homemade soap!

Cattle: includes cow, bull, steer, heifer and oxen. Cows are female cattle that have reproduced, a heifer is a female that has not yet reproduced, bulls are male cattle, steer are male cattle that have been castrated, and oxen refers to cattle (male or female) that have been trained (for 4 years) to work.

Like Mom said, "Nobody likes the way pigs smell, but they like the way bacon smells."
